The Beginnings of the Flacius Memorial Collection
The memorial collection of Matthias Flacius Illyricus was created at the initiative of the National Museum of Labin and the Labin Municipal Assembly. The conceptual solution of the collection was made in 1969 by Professor Matko Rojnić, an Istrian who was the director of the National and University Library in Zagreb. The accompanying legends were edited in 1975 by his associate, librarian Šime Jurić, the head of the Rare Books Collection. The artistic interpretation of the collection was designed by the artist from Labin, Eugen Kokot, academic painter and restorer, later a Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. Photo enlargements were made by the artistic photographer Nino Vranić and by Eugen Kokot. The coordinator for creating the exhibition was the curator of the Museum, Tullio Vorano.
